Also if you have the small 1/4 inch or so vent lines going to each of the carburetor fuel bowls, make sure that they are not plugged up.Remove the oil filler plug on the top of stator before you pull it away from the shaft so you don't suck the oil seal out of it. Oil will run out of the stator section when you pull it off so have a drip pan handy. Once you pull the stator, the wear ring just slips right off.
