What is Passpoint? Simply put, Passpoint is a protocol developed by the Wi-Fi alliance to allow users to easily transition between partner networks. The vision is that people using mobile devices like smartphones and laptops will have reduced reliance on mobile data and be able to seamlessly transition between Wi-Fi networks as they travel.
I'm pretty sure there are no additional charges but to be honest, I don't actually know. My phone has connected to AT&T WiFi Passpoint SSID's domestically with no additional charges so I'm presuming there won't be anywhere else. Let's put it this way, we've not seen anyone complain on this forum of getting charges from ATT for WiFi …
